What is your role on a job?
As the Managing Director, I am usually the first point of contact for the client. I manage client communications, book in the delivery of concrete and supervise each job on the day.
How long have you been spraying?
I’ve been spraying since 1972. I remember the early days just starting out. Most pool companies brought American labourers to Australia due to the shortage in skills to perform this kind of work.
What do you enjoy about spraying?
I enjoy being outdoors, meeting new people and the variation of each job – no job is ever the same. We’ve done projects for so many different people; from celebrities and politicians to your everyday families – I’ve sprayed for them all!

I enjoy all of our projects. They all come with their own challenges; keeping everyday interesting.

What is your role on a job?
I spray the concrete which then creates the rest of the work for the boys.
How long have you been spraying?
For over 20 years.
What do you enjoy about spraying?
The solitude and working with different materials like Gunite or Shotcrete keeps things interesting too.
Favourite project you’ve done and why?
A celebrity wanted an Egyptian themed pool – it looked fantastic.
Which footy team do you support?
Collingwood.
What is your role on a job?
I’m the lead concrete trimmer. Once all the concrete has been sprayed, it’s my job to create the masterpiece – to shape the walls and steps.
How many years have you been trimming?
A long time! Around 20 years.
What do you enjoy about your job?
I just like smooth and perfect surfaces. I like creating different shapes and angles.
Which footy team do you support?
The Bombers!
What is your role on a job?
I’m the skilled labour. I set up a clean up after a job, and I also try to keep the other boys laughing.
How long have you been in concrete?
About 5 years.
Favourite project and why?
A rooftop pool in an amazing house in Brighton. It was incredible.
